UTOPIA's engineering team has been made of an issue affecting West Valley City, causing a lack of connection. They are currently working to investigate and resolve the issue, but do not have an ETA at this time.

West Valley Outage Update:

UTOPIA is planning on having their maintenance be done around 12PM today. If I hear otherwise, I will post another update

Work is proceeding on the equipment, ETA is within the next hour or two. Worst case scenario, before 6PM

Lots of reports that the outage is over. If you're still experiencing problems, please restart your Wi-Fi router. If you still can't connect, send us an email to support@xmission.com and we will resolve it with you.

Final confirmation that all maintenance across the West Valley footprints is completed.

12/25/2025 07:31 PM MST - break/fix on our WV042.5 288FOC. We have 119 customers on this cable. 118 residential and 1 business. We currently have 26 residential customers down now and 1 business. When we cut the cable we will lose another 92 residential customers. Due to the Holiday and availability from our contractors we are shooting for TOMORROW 12/26/25 8AM - 2PM.

Resolved

Starting tonight, December 24 12:01 AM - 6:00 AM, XMission will be conducting emergency maintenance on our Southern Ute network to provide redundant Internet access. During this maintenance window, all Southern Ute customers can expect occasional disruptions to their Internet service, lasting between 1-10 minutes. Once maintenance is completed, XMission's router will automatically switch over to our back up connection if our primary connection has an outage. Southern Ute customers will enjoy a more robust Internet service with increased uptime as a result.
