Border Router Maintenance, scheduled 2 years ago

Starting late Sunday evening/Monday morning XMission will be introducing a new border router into network. Once in place we will be migrating some of our upstream carriers to it. Prior to migrating these upstream connections traffic will be gracefully rerouted and streams given time to move onto new paths. Upstream connections will be migrated one at a time. The following will be moving to the new border router: Comcast, XO/Verizon, Hurricane Electric, SIX, and CenturyLink/Lumen.

Xmission has detected a memory leak on one of our Access Switches. At the recommendation of our vendor's technical support, we will be performing a reboot on this switch tonight at midnight. This reboot will impact a small number of our Metro Ethernet customers, and downtime is estimated to last under 30 minutes.

10:05 AM The cause of the outage was determined to be a bad power cable that caused a breaker to trip. Field services is actively working to restore service ASAP. Until the full extent of the damage is discovered, we will not have an ETR.
