Human error caused a brief critical network outage from approximately 2:52 to 3:01 p.m. A network administrator was configuring some new routing equipment pending some big upcoming upgrades.

Rebooting switch to resolve SNMP-related error, scheduled 4 years ago

At the advice of our vendor's TAC team, we will be rebooting one of our network switches on Sunday the 14th at 3 AM to resolve a SNMP-related bug. Care will be taken during this time, and we will reroute customer traffic to a redundant switch prior to rebooting to avoid disruption of service. While no downtime is anticipated during the maintenance window, customers might experience slight delays or lagging as we transition traffic from one redundant switch to the other.

VoIP XMission Voice Service Issues cont'd

Customers on the smaller of XMission's multiple VLANs for voice traffic on UTOPIA are having issues connecting to our voip switch. Investigation is ongoing. Affected customers may contact support for emergency help getting back on line, and in the meantime be aware you may forward all calls to another phone, and any inbound calls may be answered by VM. Further, you may use your credentials to login to the XMission Voice app, available on both the Apple Store and Google Play to send/receive calls to your home phone on your cell phone.

Midvale Possible power outage in in Midvale affecting the network.

There is an outage to Midvale/Murray customers that we believe is being caused by a power outage.

VoIP UTOPIA VoIP fixed

A loop was found in a VLAN servicing UTOPIA VoIP customers. This has been resolved.

VoIP Voice Maintenance

This morning 2/5/2021 XMission will be remapping a VLAN servicing some customers with XMission Voice. This is one step towards correction of a larger issue still being worked on with Juniper support. Affected customers may experience a brief service interruption.

West Valley City UTOPIA outage in WVC

UTOPIA has lost connection to a switch in the WV025 footprint. Tech on site, resolution expected within 30 minutes.

VoIP UTOPIA Voice traffic degradation

XMission is aware of a problem with a VLAN handoff to UTOPIA for about half of our voice traffic. Affected customers may experience a full outage of voice service only. No Internet access is believed to be affected. UPDATE we have identified a problem with a switch that is affecting this traffic and are determining the repair requirements. *UPDATE 4:00 PM we have an active ticket with Juniper support regarding the routing errors. No ETA
