DESCRIPTION: To accommodate for future growth, UTOPIA will be upgrading equipment in our WP002 footprint in West Point UT.

MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION: OR005 START: 9/7/21 11:00 pm FINISH: 9/8/21 7:00 am

We have a planned maintenance window scheduled for tonight. ~456 customers in this area of Orem City can expect to be down for the duration of this maintenance.

To allow for future growth, UTOPIA will be upgrading the OR005 Cabinet in Orem UT.

SCOPE OF IMPACT: 456 residential and 14 business customers. Customers affected can expect to be down for the duration of the maintenance.

MAINTENANCE START TIME: Monday, Sep 6, 2021, 11:00 p.m. MDT

MAINTENANCE STOP TIME: Tuesday, Sep 7, 2021, 7:00 a.m. MDT

XMission will be performing emergency maintenance tonight, starting from Midnight to 6 AM, to address recent network performance issues. During this time, our network administrator may reroute Internet traffic through different parts of our network as diagnostic data is collected, but no major service downtime is expected

Due to US-89 UDOT construction, UTOPIA will be relocating fiber at the following locations in Layton, UT

Affected customers affected can expect to be down for approximately two hours.

OUTAGE & EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION: OR005 START: 9/1/21 10:00 PM END: 9/2/21 8:00 AM A fiber cut in Orem is affecting 57 homes. In order to make repairs, UTOPIA will need to cut a major cable that will take down ~300 more homes during this time in order to resolve the issues

Our network administrator was able to find a point of bandwidth saturation between a pair of core switches that was causing a bottleneck, resulting in packet loss. Connections should now be stabilized.

XMission will be replacing one of our border routers tonight, during a maintenance window between midnight and 6 AM. We will be decommissioning one of our Juniper MX240 routers and replacing it with a Juniper MX204, which will be able to scale with our bandwidth needs as we upgrade our network to handle 100 Gbps speeds. This maintenance is not expected to impact service to our customers, but a handful of users who peer with this router can expect downtime of between 15-60 minutes as we bring the new router online.
